I am helping a client, a Ugandan-based agricultural, food, and beverage manufacturing company specializing in organic farming, with a cold-extraction plant to produce virgin avocado oil, to find a highly qualified specialist to assist them on-site with orchard management and maintenance, leading field Supervisors, irrigation teams, and plantation workers.

The Hass Avocado Specialist will provide strategic and technical leadership for a commercial Hass avocado plantation and will also manage and optimize the establishment. The role is accountable for maximizing orchard productivity, improving fruit quality,  maintaining healthy tree development, and implementing internationally recognized agronomic practices that support sustainable commercial production. Working closely with the plantation teams, the role holder will oversee all technical aspects of avocado production, including orchard planning, irrigation, soil fertility, crop nutrition, pruning, pest and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. The specialist will use data, field observations, and best-practice techniques to drive continuous improvement in plantation performance. The person who joins the company will show high levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

MUST HAVE:

● Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.

● Minimum of 5 years' proven experience managing large-scale commercial Hass avocado plantations.

● Fluency in spoken and written English (mandatory).

● OPEN TO RELOCATE TO UGANDA

● Demonstrated experience working in leading avocado-producing countries,

preferably Mexico, or other countries such as Peru, Chile, Colombia or similar

commercial production environments.

● Proven track record of improving orchard productivity, fruit quality, and operational efficiency in a commercial farming environment.

● Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and providing technical coaching

to supervisors and field workers.

● Strong understanding of international commercial avocado production standards and sustainable farming practices.

● Experience preparing technical reports, production forecasts, and

operational budgets is highly desirable.

Contract Terms

● Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (1–2 Years)

● Probation Period: 6 Months
